Brothers Bar & Grill in downtown Milwaukee is set to reopen this week after almost a year's long renovation project and expansion.
The bar, located at 1213 N. Water St., will open its doors Oct. 8 with a new interior and temperature-controlled all-season patio, as well as a full food menu and 40-line draft beer system, according to a news release.
La Crosse-based Brothers Bar & Grill has 16 locations in 10 Midwestern states. Its downtown Milwaukee location opened in 2005. The chain is owned by Fortney Hospitality Group Inc.
Brothers
has expanded into an adjacent two-story 4,420-square-foot building, previously home to Milwaukee Molding & Frame Corp. According to state property records, Fortney, Fortney & Fortney LLP purchased the property for $1 million in October 2019, which is about a year after the 100-year-old retailer closed.

The former Milwaukee Molding & Frame Corp. parking lot has also been redeveloped into additional seating space for Brothers, lined with garage-style doors facing the sidewalk.
Work at the bar began late last year and was originally expected to be complete by spring, according to social media posts.
The new-and-improved space also includes 45 large screen TVs, and upgraded dance floor with a "state-of-art light and sound system."
Face coverings and social distancing guidance will be enforced from open to close, according to the release.
