Blood donors can receive free admission to Summerfest

The BloodCenter of Wisconsin, based in Milwaukee, will give away free Summerfest tickets to all donors from Monday, June 24, through Saturday, June, 29, as a thank you for their generosity in taking the time to donate.

 

All attempting blood donors will receive a ticket for complimentary admission to the music festival, which runs from Wednesday, June 26, through Sunday, June 30, and from Tuesday, July 2, through Sunday, July 7 at Henry W. Maier Festival Park, located at 200 N. Harbor Dr. in Milwaukee.

Donors will be able to gain free admission to Summerfest on any weekday between noon and 4 p.m. Tickets are limited.

Interested individuals can make an appointment with the BloodCenter by calling 1-877-BE-A-HERO (1-877-232-4376), or by visiting www.bcw.edu.

Blood donations typically decrease throughout the summer, largely due to more people traveling and fewer school and community drives being organized, according to the BloodCenter.

The BloodCenter is in particular need of O negative blood and platelet donors, but all healthy individuals age 17 or older are encouraged to donate. Sixteen-year-old donors will need parental consent.
