BizTimes Commercial Real Estate & Development Conference is next week

The annual BizTimes Commercial Real Estate & Development Conference is coming up next week.
“Milwaukee 2020” will be the theme of this year’s conference, which will take place on Thursday, Nov. 11, at Potawatomi Bingo Casino, 1721 W. Canal St., Milwaukee.
The conference will illustrate the dramatic changes Milwaukee has seen over the past 10 years and examine the changes that lie ahead in the next decade.
The conference is presented annually by BizTimes Milwaukee in partnership with the Marquette University Bell Real Estate program and the Commercial Association of Realtors Wisconsin (CARW).
This year’s conference will include a panel discussion about how Milwaukee will be different in 2020. The panelists will include:
•    Mark Eppli, professor and Robert B. Bell Sr. Chair in Real Estate at Marquette University. Eppli will share his expertise in the U.S. Census and other data to examine the demographics of Milwaukee in 2020. He will examine how factors such as race, age and gender will affect commercial real estate trends 10 years from now.
•    Richard “Rocky” Marcoux, commissioner of the Milwaukee Department of City Development. Marcoux will discuss how downtown Milwaukee will change over the next 10 years.
•    Tom Rave, executive director of the Airport Gateway Business Association. Rave will discuss southeastern Wisconsin’s regional transit needs for competing in a global economy in 2020.
•    Clay Nesler, vice president of global energy and sustainability at Johnson Controls Inc. Nesler will discuss how Milwaukee’s commercial buildings will be re-equipped and retrofitted by 2020, as well as how our vehicles will be fueled a decade from now.
•    Jill Morin, chief executive officer of Kahler Slater Inc. Morin, who is the author of a new book, “Better Make it Real: Creating Authenticity in an Increasingly Fake World,” will discuss how the day-to-day lifestyle and workplace experiences will be different in 2020.
