BizTimes Around Town-Push for RTA

Several prominet southeastern Wisconsin business owners joined Gov. Jim Doyle at a press conference to announce new legislation for a proposed regional transit authority. The business owners who spoke at the press conference in favor of an RTA were: Tim Sullivan, presisdent and chief executive officer of South Milwaukee-based Bucyrus International Inc.; Robert Mariano, chairman and chief executive officer of Milwaukee-based Roundy’s Supermarkets Inc.; H. Fisk Johnson, chairman and chief executive officer of Racine-based S.C. Johnson & Son Inc.; Ed Zore, chief executive officer of Milwaukee-based Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Co., and Scott VanderSanden, president of AT&T Wisconsin. City of Racine mayor John Dickert and Jeff Van Joningsveld, president of IBEW Local 430 and co-chair of the Racine Labor Coalition also spoke in support.
