Badger ToyotaLift

Badger ToyotaLift, New Berlin, was recently honored with the Sales Elite Award at the Toyota Material Handling U.S.A. Inc.’s (TMHU) National Dealers Meeting in Carlsbad, Calif. This award is given to the top seven TMHU dealers that excel in generating volume unit sales of new Toyota Equipment based upon dealer classifications.

In addition to the Sales Elite Award, Badger ToyotaLift was also the recipient of the Service Excellence and the Parts Excellence Awards. Both of these honors are bestowed upon TMHU dealerships and their department managers who demonstrate superior performance in the areas of operations and training.

Susan G. Komen for the Cure

In response to an unprecedented need for financial support during this economic crisis, the Komen Milwaukee Affiliate recently granted $40,000 to the Southeastern Regional Breast Care Fund. The recipient’s mission is to provide financial assistance to low income, uninsured and underinsured men and women in Southeast Wisconsin who are in need of breast health services or have incurred bills related to breast cancer screening, diagnosis and treatment.

Paradigm Sensors LLC

Robert Young, founder and chief executive officer of Paradigm Sensors, Milwaukee, recently accepted the Small Company 2009 MIT Club of Wisconsin Technology Achievement Award. Paradigm Sensors, a winner of the 2008 R&D 100 Award and a recipient of an award from the Governor’s Wisconsin Energy Independence Fund, is an early-stage company located in Milwaukee’s 30th Street Industrial Corridor.  The company has taken advantage of the $5 billion market in the alternative fuel industry with its proprietary i-SPEC Q 100 biodiesel handheld analyzer, produced to ensure that engines burning biodiesel blends operate safely, efficiently, and reliably. The intellectual property for the Impedance Spectroscopy (IS) sensor, the core technology for the i-SPEC, was purchased from Marquette University. Paradigm Sensors has since commercialized this technology in a handheld analyzer that tests the quality of bio diesel.

The Medical College of Wisconsin

The Medical College of Wisconsin, Wauwatosa, recently received a five-year, $1,552,875 grant from the National Institutes of Health’s National Institute of Aging for work to better understand disturbances to normal neurological function caused by Alzheimer’s disease, schizophrenia, aging, hypothyroidism, and stress. The research will examine the role that neurogranin, a protein essential for learning and memory, plays in neuronal function. Nashaat Gerges, assistant professor of cell biology, neurobiology, and anatomy, is the principal investigator for the grant. Gerges and his team of researchers will investigate the fundamental mechanism that regulates synaptic plasticity, and how these changes in normal function cause neurological disorders.


Kohler Company

The newly remodeled Inn on Woodlake was recently recognized with the 2009 Wisconsin American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) Award for 2009. The Kohler Architecture & Interior Design Department received the ASID Gold Design Award recognizing excellence in both commercial and residential interior design. The Inn on Woodlake project was judged on elements and principles of design, such as functional and creative use of space and color composition.

Tushaus Computer Services

Tushaus Computer Services, Milwaukee, recently announced its new elevated status to a Gold Channel Partner with Symantec Corporation. The final certifications for the Symantec Gold Partnership status were completed by Tushaus in an effort to strengthen their Technology Risk Management Practice. 

Marshall & Ilsley Corp.

M&I Institutional Trust Services was recently ranked the number one investment services and record keeping and administrative services provider in 401(k) Exchange’s 2008 survey of retirement plan providers. The survey of mid-market retirement plan sponsors, with plan assets of $10 million to $100 million, resulted in M&I receiving the highest percentage of very satisfied or excellent rankings compared to other industry providers. This is the second year M&I has been ranked number one in the 401(k) Exchange survey. M&I was also named the number one retirement plan provider by PLANSPONSOR Magazine’s 2007 and 2008 defined contribution survey, earning 81 Best-in-Class awards across four market segments and 23 service categories.
