MillerCoors
MillerCoors LLC received the fourth annual Milwaukee Citizen Support of Our Armed Services Award. The company was honored at the Navy League Armed Forces Week banquet held at the Wisconsin Club of Milwaukee. The award recognizes MillerCoors for its continued efforts to support and honor veterans both as an employer and as a community member. The recognition highlights MillerCoors’ formal policy to hire veterans and hold Veterans Day ceremonies, the company’s efforts to raise cash and other incentives for veterans, and its memorial built near the MillerCoors Visitor Center. Andy Moschea, brewery vice president-Milwaukee, accepted the award on MillerCoors’ behalf.
Alverno College
Dr. Mary Diez, dean of the Alverno College School of Education, has been honored with an Education Advocacy Award from Marquette University’s College of Education. The award recognizes significant or systematic contributions to local, state or national educational landscapes. Diez was presented with the award at Marquette’s annual College of Education Missing Recognition Evening.
The event honors groups and individuals who have helped the College of Education achieve its social justice mission.
Weigh2Life
Weigh2Life recently opened an office at 200 S. Executive Dr. in Brookfield. The company’s goal is to help individuals with weight loss through personal coaching, nutrition and supplements, and exercise. Weigh2Life also addresses physical and psychological factors relating to health. Owner John Zimmerman Jr. hopes to further expand in southeastern Wisconsin in the near future.
2-Story Creative
2-Story Creative has acquired Weiss & Company with 2-Story founder Ellen Homb becoming the sole owner of the merged marketing firm. 2-Story will retain its name. Jenny Weiss, owner of Weiss & Company, will become the company’s vice president of strategic communications, and Jessica Himsel will serve as vice president of creative strategy and marketing. The two small agencies have collaborated in the past in order to gain growth opportunities. The new firm is now complete with marketing and creative expertise along with public relations and community outreach services.
Oak Creek
The city of Oak Creek launched a new city logo and marketing campaign to showcase development opportunities there. Savage Based Solutions LLC, Milwaukee, has created the logo and a video for the marketing campaign. The logo design features a circle of community, Lake Michigan water and an oak leaf.
