New niche team is Baird’s 11th industry specific I-banking division
With the hire of Curtis Goot and Frank Murphy last week, Milwaukee-based Robert W. Baird & Co. Inc. created a new energy-related investment banking team.
Goot and Murphy formerly worked as managing directors at Wells Fargo Securities and A.G. Edwards’ Energy Investment Banking Group. They have become managing directors with Baird.
“Curtis and Frank established a tremendous energy team at A.G. Edwards and are known for their innovation, integrity and strong client focus,” said Steve Booth, director of Baird’s investment banking group. “Adding an energy banking team is an exciting opportunity and will broaden Baird’s capital markets reach and relationships. It also complements our existing clean tech, utility and energy/environmental policy capabilities, as well as several other sectors.”
Kjell Lundal has been named as vice president of the energy investment banking team. Lundal worked previously with Goot and Murphy at A.G. Edwards.
Baird now has investment banking teams in 11 different sectors: business services, clean technology, consumer, distribution/supply chain, energy, financial services, health care, industrial, real estate, technology and utilities.
“We believe that the energy industry will be extremely receptive to what the Baird franchise has to offer and we are looking forward to introducing Baird to our clients,” Murphy said.
