According to documents filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Baird Capital Partners plans to raise capital for a fifth investment fund.
Baird Capital Partners, the buyout fund of Baird Private Equity, has previously raised four funds, most recently in 2006. Baird Private Equity is a global private equity group affiliated with Milwaukee-based R.W. Baird & Co. Inc.
Baird Private Equity has raised and managed more than $2.4 billion in capital since the 1980’s. Baird officials declined to comment about the fifth fund. Baird Capital Partners acquires companies in the business services, manufactured products and health care and life sciences fields.
On Monday, MedData Inc., a portfolio company of Baird Capital Partners, acquired Summit Health Care Services. MedData is a Seattle provider of emergency department and hospital coding, billing and data management services. Summit Health Care Services is based in Brecksville, Ohio.
Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
