To engage more young professionals in the community and build on talent attraction and retention efforts across the region, Milwaukee-based Aurora Health Care and Newaukee have established a partnership.
Through their relationship, the health care system and social architecture firm hope to boost employee retention as well as “create a sense of community” within Aurora Health Care, according to a statement from Newaukee.
That sense of community will largely be fostered through internal and external programs Newaukee will customize and lead for Aurora’s workforce of young professionals.
“Aurora is excited to enter into this partnership with Newaukee,” said Amy Rislov, chief human resources officer at Aurora Health Care. “Newaukee not only encourages all people to become involved in this vibrant city; they take action to make the city even better. Aurora hires approximately 2,000 new employees in the Milwaukee region every year, and Newaukee will present opportunities for these Aurora caregivers to be involved and develop personally and professionally.”
“Talent retention is not an issue that is exclusive to one company or one industry,” said Angela Damiani, president of Newaukee. “It is a citywide reality that every local employer must face. We believe that the solution can be found through a proactive place-based investment that attracts talent and keeps them engaged in the community. Newaukee is proud to work with Aurora Health Care to develop a program that will do exactly that.”
The partnership between the two entities formed in April during YPWeek 2014, which featured a wellness program series led by area fitness experts at Milwaukee venues.
