ASQ CEO to retire

Organizations:

Paul Borawski, chief executive officer of Milwaukee-based ASQ, announced that he will retire in May 2014.

He joined the organization in 1986 as director of technical activities and advanced to executive director, chief strategic officer and CEO. Borawski has worked to manage growth and expand ASQ’s global presence.

“I was proud of the organization I joined (in 1986), and proud of the organization ASQ has become,” Borawski said. “ASQ’s mission and vision have provided for a career of immense inspiration and satisfaction. Today, ASQ is the global voice of quality and the plans are in place that will assure a future where the organization continues to grow in worldwide influence and impact.”

Borawski spent 35 years in the association management profession, and plans to spend time with friends and family in retirement. He will finish his role following the World Conference on Quality and Improvement in May 2014.

The organization’s executive council is beginning a search for a new CEO, in which Borawski will take part.

“Paul is committed to the success of ASQ and continuity of a CEO success process,” said John Timmerman, chairman of the company’s board of directors. “Paul’s departure is much more than a retirement because he has imprinted a legacy and was the chief architect in the growth of ASQ.”
