Area’s class A office market shows strength

The Milwaukee area’s overall office market held steady during the third quarter, but vacancies fell during the quarter for the area’s class A office space, according to a report by Boston-based Colliers International.

Downtown Milwaukee’s overall office space vacancy rate for the quarter was 15.9 for the third quarter, the same as the second quarter according to the report. But downtown Milwaukee’s class A office space vacancy rate fell from 13.3 percent to 9.6 percent, according to the report.

In the suburbs the area’s office space vacancy rate also held steady at 15.2 percent. But the suburban area’s class A office space vacancy rate fell from 19.0 percent to 12.1 percent during the third quarter, according to the report.
