Aramis Ramirez takes big loss on Lake Shore Drive condo

Organizations:

The housing recovery didn’t arrive in time for former Chicago Cubs and current Milwaukee Brewers slugger Aramis Ramirez, who unloaded his Lake Shore Drive condominium this month at a 27 percent loss.

The two-time All-Star third baseman sold the three-bedroom unit at 1440 N. Lake Shore Drive for $680,000, according to multiple listing service data from Midwest Real Estate Data LLC. The 2,300-square-foot condo offers Lake Michigan and skyline views and includes a kitchen and separate dining room, built-in window seating, master suite and in-unit laundry, according to a listing.

Records show Mr. Ramirez, who spent nearly nine seasons with the North Siders, paid $937,500 for the condo in 2005.
