The Agape Community Center in Milwaukee has released it’s 2010 Sing for Your Supper collection CD. Since 2007, the Agape Community Center has compiled a collection of local musicians on the Sing for Your Supper CD. All proceeds from the sale of the CDs goes directly to the Center’s Community Meal Program.
“We’re hoping to sell enough CD’s to feed more than 20,000 people through our Community Meal Program next year,” said Al Luzi, director of development for the Agape Community Center. “All the money goes to feed people here in this community. It’s a great gift not only from the artists who are providing their talent for the CD, but also for anyone who purchases the CD because the money goes towards feeding hungry people.”
This year’s CD includes songs performed by Marquette University High School, St. Thomas More High School, Dominican High School, Catholic Memorial High School, Divine Savior Holy Angels High School, St. John Vianney/St. Dominic Strings, the Milwaukee Police Department band, Marquette University Liturgical Choir, and Ministry Health Care employee and vocalist Nicky Jordan, the 2010 Ministry has Talent Winner Natalie Boyd and Pius XI high school alumni and recording artist Grace Weber.
“The CD features a wide variety of holiday favorites,” Luiz said. “We purposely included a mix of songs and styles to make it a great experience for everyone. We have the big band sound of the Police Department Band, strings and vocals from some of the area’s most talented orchestras and choirs and even Grant us Peace sung in Hebrew.”
According to Luiz, the cover art for the CD was designed by a Dominican High School Student. The CD sells for $15 and features songs including Coventry Carole, The Christmas Waltz, Noel, Angels We have Heard on High, The most Wonderful Time of the Year and other traditional favorites.
