Milwaukee philanthropist Chris Abele continues to plow his own money into his county executive campaign, funneling another $450,000 into his coffers.
Abele reported raising $542,985 during the pre-primary period, which covers the month of January. Most of that came from his own pocket, and his personal financial commitment to the race is now $700,000. He spent $397,427 during the pre-primary period and had a $410,094 warchest.
State Rep. Jeff Stone, R-Greendale, raised $51,035 during the month for his bid. He reported spending $20,555, for an ending cash balance of $78,311.
And state Sen. Jim Sullivan, D-Wauwatosa, reported raising $24,122, spending $19,615 and $8,667 cash on hand.
The campaign of county board chairman Lee Holloway did not return a call seeking his campaign finance information. Community activist Ieshuh Griffin is also on the ballot for county executive.
The candidates will square off in a Feb. 15 primary, and the top two vote-getters will advance to the April 5 election.
