Notable BIPOC Executives: Kip Ritchie

Class of 2025

Colleagues say Kip Ritchie has led a transformation at Milwaukee-based Potawatomi Ventures since being named CEO in September 2023. Potawatomi Ventures, previously known as Potawatomi Business Development Corp., is the economic development and investment arm of the Forest County Potawatomi Community.

“Under Kip Ritchie’s leadership, Potawatomi Ventures has not only achieved remarkable growth but also exemplified a commitment to the Forest County Potawatomi Community,” said Tom Boelter, board chairman of Potawatomi Ventures. “His dedication to fostering an inclusive culture, growing the team and businesses and connecting with the tribe is remarkable.”

Ritchie joined Potawatomi Ventures as chief operating officer in 2021. As the company’s first tribal CEO and tribal elder, Ritchie has a deep understanding of the tribe, creating a closer relationship with the FCPC. Under his leadership, the company has dedicated resources to connecting with the tribal community through roundtables, events on the reservation, internship opportunities, career exploration days and more, according to Potawatomi Ventures marketing intern Kenedy Van Zile.

Ritchie has served as chairman of the Forest County Potawatomi Foundation board for 25 years.
