M-WERC to hold third accelerator program

WERCBench Labs accepting startup applications

Milwaukee’s Mid-West Energy Research Consortium has announced it will offer a third round of its technology accelerator, WERCbench Labs, this fall.

M-WERC is located at the Century City Tower at 4201 N. 27th St.

The nonprofit is now accepting applications for the program, from which it will select 10 startup participants.

WERCBench is a 12-week, mentor-driven immersive technology program. Mentors are drawn from the energy, power and controls industry. Participants complete customer discovery and business model canvas exploration during the program, which runs from September through November. In December, they will reveal their progress at a Demo Day.

Nine startups graduated from each of the first two rounds. This year, participants will have access to a new laboratory and fabrication space at M-WERC’s Energy Innovation Center at 4201 N. 27th St. in Milwaukee.

“WERCBench Labs is an entrepreneurial immersive technology program providing a unique opportunity for startups to interact directly with our roster of more than 90 world-class, experienced and technical mentors,” said Jeff Anthony, managing director for WERCBench Labs. “The teams we select will have access to unparalleled expertise in our member companies, seasoned instructors, newly-created lab and prototyping facilities, and small-scale production equipment.”

Applications are available by emailing wercbench@m-werc.org. They are due by June 30.
