Komisar Brady & Co. LLP, headquartered in Milwaukee, has added staff accountants Nick Borden, Joey Labellarte, Mary Tarman, Melanie Taylor and Andrew Wall.

Pewaukee-based Jannsen + Company S.C. has expanded its accounting team with accountants Morgan Franz, Nicole Preston and Pamela Tarasewicz. Additionally, the company has welcomed Lynn Rhode as a payroll processor and bookkeeper.

Architecture

Engberg Anderson Architects, headquartered in Milwaukee, has added Ryan Shortridge as an architectural designer.

Milwaukee-based Plunkett Raysich Architects LLP has promoted Nicholas Kent to partner and Tony Breitlow to project manager in training for the firm’s Health Care studio. Kent interned for the firm in 1998 and returned as an employee in 2006. Prior to his promotion, he was project manager in the education studio. As a partner, he will continue serving as project manager for educational projects and will assume additional leadership functions. Breitlow has worked for the firm since 2000. He most recently served as senior project architect. In his new role, he will help guide projects under the firm’s Health Care studio.

Banking & Finance

Johnson Bank has named Mark Rose vice president, private banking, for the bank’s new Mequon office. Rose has 20 years of banking experience. For the last decade, he has focused on private and business banking.

Kenosha-based Southport Bank has named Russ Weyers president and chief executive officer. Weyers replaces Timothy Schadeberg, who filled the role from May 2011 to December 2014. He has more than 25 years of banking and leadership experience. Weyers was group senior vice president at Cole Taylor Bank from 2011 to 2014. He previously served as executive vice president of Racine-based Johnson Financial Group and president and chief operating officer of Johnson Bank and has also worked in senior commercial lending positions at Bank One in Kenosha and Firstar Bank in Milwaukee.

Ixonia Bank has hired Tom Pasch as vice president of business banking. He previously worked as a business relationship manager at Wells Fargo. Pasch studied business finance at Brown College. In his new role, he will provide customized financial solutions to local businesses.

Design

Design North Inc., of Racine, recently promoted Paul Walker to vice president, brand initiatives. Walker has experience in market research, brand management, point-of-sale marketing, advertising, public relations and broadcast journalism. In his new role, he will aid clients in defining their brand strategy and will oversee projects facilitated by staff brand strategists. Walker will also supervise project management staff members.

Education

Milwaukee Montessori School has appointed Michele Ripp director of communications and marketing. Ripp’s career has included positions as a graphic designer and marketing manager. She is well-versed in packaging design, marketing collateral, marketing initiatives, social media campaigns, media relations, organizing fundraisers, building sponsorships and photographing events. In her new role, Ripp will oversee communication and marketing efforts to tout the school’s mission, academic programs and offerings. She will be responsible for web content and images, social media, advertisements and publications, and media relations.

Hospitality & Entertainment

VISIT Milwaukee recently promoted Dana Jones to vice president, finance and administration. Jones has a total of 29 years of experience in hospitality and tourism. She has worked for VISIT Milwaukee since 1996. In her promoted role, she will handle fiscal oversight of the hotel occupancy tax dollars produced by VISIT Milwaukee’s sales and marketing initiatives. She will also oversee the organization’s administration and human resources.

Insurance

Hays Companies of Wisconsin, located in Milwaukee, has added Chris Smessaert as a benefits consultant. Smessaert has expertise in auditing, accounting and finance-related services. He previously worked as a litigation attorney.

ACUITY, headquartered in Sheboygan, has promoted Shane Paltzer to vice president, marketing and personal lines. Paltzer started with ACUITY in June 1992 as a personal lines underwriter and has continued to rise through the ranks. In January 2002, he became general manager in sales. In Paltzer’s new role, he will guide product and customer development initiatives along with regulatory compliance, market intelligence and line underwriting functions in personal lines.

Legal Services

Milwaukee-based Quarles & Brady LLP has named Nicole Druckrey pro bono coordinator of the Milwaukee office. Druckrey is a partner in the firm’s Commercial Litigation practice group. As pro bono coordinator, Druckrey will help guide coordination of free legal services provided by the firm’s Milwaukee attorneys.

Milwaukee-based Reinhart Boerner Van Deuren s.c. recently named five of its attorneys shareholders: James Borchardt, a shareholder and registered patent attorney in the firm’s Intellectual Property practice; Robert Driscoll, a shareholder in the firm’s Labor and Employment practice; Jennifer Naeger, a shareholder in the firm’s Litigation practice, chair of the Food and Beverage Law practice group, and a member of the Product Liability team; Mindy Foss Rice, a shareholder in the firm’s Banking and Financing practice and a member of the Food and Beverage Law practice group; and Gordon Wright, a shareholder and registered patent attorney in the firm’s Intellectual Property practice. Additionally, Reinhart Boerner Van Deuren has added experienced attorneys James Sheriff and John Reichert to its Financial Institutions practice group. Sheriff has more than 30 years of experience representing large, publicly held banks and holding companies, as well as privately held community banks and thrifts. Reichert regularly counsels financial services companies, presidents, directors and other senior bank executives.

Whyte Hirschboeck Dudek S.C. has added attorney Joshua Levy to its Construction Services team. Levy is co-leader of the team and will be based in the firm’s Milwaukee office. Levy’s career has included experience in private practice and as general counsel, during which he advised a variety of construction clients. Along with serving construction clients in his new role, he will specialize in commercial and corporate litigation and labor and employment law. He also has experience tackling these matters in state and federal courts and administrative agencies.

Nonprofit

The Wisconsin Parkinson Association, located in Milwaukee, has elected Kate McDonald president of its board of directors. McDonald, who is the organization’s first female president, is vice president of U.S. Bank Asset-Based Finance. She previously served as vice president of business banking for Ixonia Bank in Hartland and also spent 10 years as an assistant vice president at GE Commercial Finance.

Operation DREAM, a Milwaukee nonprofit that offers mentoring programs for young males, has appointed Alexandra Goldman treasurer of its board of directors. Goldman serves as an audit associate with Sattell, Johnson, Appel & Co. S.C. in Menomonee Falls.

Junior Achievement of Wisconsin, headquartered in Milwaukee, has named Nicole Brookshire vice president of operations. Brookshire has 17 years of corporate and government experience and has a professional background in audit, compliance and development business centers. Her career has included serving as grants compliance manager for the City of Milwaukee and working in national field operations with Mortgage Guaranty Insurance Corp. At Junior Achievement of Wisconsin, Brookshire will fill the organization’s operational needs.

Jennifer Jones, an advocate for children and families with more than 20 years of experience, has joined the Milwaukee-based Alliance for Strong Families and Communities to lead a new three-year project meant to infuse, align and accelerate brain science research within nonprofit human-serving organizations, as well as policies and systems. Jones, previously the associate director of the Madison-based Wisconsin Children’s Trust Fund, joined the organization in early February as director of child and family systems innovation. She is based out of the alliance’s national operations center in Milwaukee.

Charles McLimans is succeeding Bonnie Bellehumeur as president and chief executive officer of Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin. Bellehumeur retired at the end of 2014 after 23 years at the helm of the organization. McLimans, a Wisconsin native, previously served as president and chief executive officer of Loaves & Fishes Community Services, a Naperville, Ill.-based hunger relief and anti-poverty organization that is affiliated with the Feeding America food bank in northern Illinois. McLimans spent seven years at Loaves & Fishes Community Services, holding responsibility over its finances, fundraising, client services and community relations.

The Curative Care Network has named Maureen Collins director of quality. Collins, who is a registered dietitian, previously was the director of the National Outcomes Center at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. At the Curative Care Network, Collins will reinforce the organization’s mission to facilitate high-quality care and services. She will be charged with measuring key performance indicators, and she will also help advance the organization’s accreditation process under the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities.

Real Estate

Milwaukee-based NAI MLG Commercial recently promoted several leaders. The firm has promoted Rachel Schmidt, Tim Janusz, Brett Garceau, Adam Matson and Kevin Schmoldt to senior vice presidents. Travis Tiede has been promoted to vice president.

The Wisconsin chapter of Commercial Real Estate Women, located in Milwaukee, has named its 2015 board of directors. Directors are: co-president Beth Rummel of Paul Davis Restoration & Remodeling, co-president Heather Nelson of Spring Bank, treasurer Debbie Kossow of CliftonLarsonAllen LLP, secretary Maggie Grzesiowski of Colliers International, past president Jennifer Devitt of Wangard Partners, national delegate Erika Baurecht of Whyte Hirschboeck Dudek SC, Alicia Kopp of BMO Harris Bank, Roberta Oldenburg of Mortenson Construction, national delegate Karen Perzan of Quarles & Brady LLP, and Anne Ryan of Baker Tilly Virchow Krause.

Restaurants

Fiddleheads Coffee Roasters, which has locations across southeastern Wisconsin including in Thiensville, Cedarburg, Mequon and Glendale, has promoted Jovana Cubric to the newly created position of vice president of operations.

Senior Living Communities
United Lutheran Program for the Aging Inc., which does business as Luther Manor, announced the appointment of Stephanie Chedid as president and chief executive officer. Chedid succeeds the Rev. David J. Keller, who retired in 2014 after 23 years as president and CEO. Chedid is the third executive to hold the position in Luther Manor’s more than 50-year history of serving older adults. Chedid most recently served as president of Cleary Gull Advisors Inc., a Milwaukee-based advisory firm. She dedicated her business to working in the health care sector and with nonprofit organizations, specializing in aging services across the nation. In addition, she has extensive experience working with faith-based organizations and their governing boards. Prior to joining Cleary Gull in 2006, Chedid was a senior vice president at Robert W. Baird & Co. Inc.
