Kolb, Lauwasser & Co., a West Allis-based CPA and business advisory firm, has added virtual technology services to its offerings. Centurion Data Systems, a technology-solutions firm based in Waukesha, has introduced Managed Network Services, a computer networking process aimed at small to medium-sized businesses.
The service can eliminate the need to purchase, support and maintain network server hardware and software, according to Edward King, president of the firm. “Businesses with up to 50 computers receive robust computer network features plus service and support in one low fixed monthly cost based only on features needed,” he said. Businesses are not responsible for the equipment and software supplied by Centurion Data Systems.
Tushaus Computer Services of Wauwatosa has expanded its training services to include Windows NT administration training. The four-hour class prepares companies for in-house network administration.
Sun Tzu Security, a Milwaukee-based computer security firm, will launch a division dedicated to computer forensics and expert witness testimony.
The new division will serve both the legal and law enforcement community in the recovery, investigation and presentation of computer-related evidence.
“Our facilities will be one of the first in region,” notes Kelly Hansen, president and CEO of Sun Tzu Security. “Our services should prove exceptionally helpful in cases in which computer evidence has been tampered with or destroyed.” Computer forensics can be useful in criminal cases, civil disputes as well as human resources and employment proceedings.
“People do not realize that it takes far more than hitting the delete key to destroy a document,” explains John Gapinski, vice president of information technology for Sun Tzu Security. “If a company is properly backing up its system, almost anything can be recovered.”
Over the course of the past year, Sun Tzu has worked on several forensics related cases. “The demand for computer-related evidence gathering is growing dramatically,” comments Hansen. By September, Sun Tzu plans to have its full-scale forensics laboratory completed as well as its mobile unit online.

The firm will specialize in searches for publicly-held companies with more than $25 million in annual revenues.

DeLaney Lang, who lives in Delafield, has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She is a member of the Society of Human Resources Management, the Institute of Management Consultants, Sales & Marketing Executives and TEMPO.
Their offices are at 710 N. Plankinton, in downtown Milwaukee.
The Fox Point Borders Books, Music & Café has opened at 8705 N. Port Washington Road in Fox Point. An Aug. 26-28 grand opening is scheduled.
