Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) ruled this week that homeowners and small businesses hit by July flooding in Milwaukee, Waukesha and Grant counties would not recieve get individual assistance to help them recover.
Democratic Wisconsin Gov. Jim Doyle said he was “deeply disappointed” in the decision and is promising to continue the fight.
“I will appeal the federal decision so we can continue helping people rebuild from July’s severe storms and flooding,” Doyle said.
Milwaukee County Executive Scott Walker, the leading Republican candidate for governor, said he was appreciative of Doyle’s plan to appeal.
