Waukesha County District Attorney Brad Schimel says it could be a while before any decisions are made on the re-trial of former lawmaker Scott Jensen on felony misconduct charges.
The state Supreme Court last month ruled that Jensen should be re-tried in his home county of Waukesha. He was originally tried in Dane County, but that conviction was overturned on appeal.
Schimel said he hasn’t received documents pertaining to the case from Dane County. Dane County DA Brian Blanchard, who oversaw the original trial, has offered to give him an overview of the case before he leaves in August to take a spot on the 4th District Court of Appeals.
Schimel wouldn’t venture a guess on when he might make a decision on how he’ll proceed with the case.
