Beer lovers festival to be held at Bayshore Town Center
The City of Glendale has partnered with the Wisconsin Brewer’s Guild and Draft Magazine to host the 2011 Wisconsin Beer Lovers Festival on Saturday, June 18 from 1 to 5 p.m. at Bayshore Town Center.
The craft beer and tasting festival will included selections from 30 different breweries around the state and brew masters from the breweries will be on hand to share insight and provide expertise on the art of beer and food pairings.
Restaurants including COA, Bd’s Mongolian Grill, Devon Seafood Grill, California Pizza Kitchen, Bar Louie, Ovations, Bravo!, Solly’s Grille, Anchorage, Zambonie’s, and others will provide food designed to pair nicely with each of the selections. Tickets cost $40 per person and include admission to the event, souvenir beer glass and unlimited sampling of more than 100 Wisconsin beers. A portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit the Bayshore Community Foundation. Designated Driver tickets will be available at a discounted rate of $20 at the door and will include souvenir beer glass and complimentary food pairings.

Bradford Beach kicks off music series
Bradford Beach, in partnership with Milwaukee County Parks, Miller Lite, WMSE, Radio Milwaukee and Hi Hat Restaurant Group will kick off the Bradford Beach Bonfire Series tonight at 6:30 p.m.
“The Bradford Beach Bonfire Music Series is the next step in the revitalization process that Bradford has undergone in the past few years,” said Todd Gawronski, owner of G1, Inc the exclusive marketer and promoter of Milwaukee beaches. “We intend to provide an interesting alternative to the local music series that occur throughout the summer in Milwaukee. The atmosphere of the beach in combination with the great local musicians that will play live for audiences will be a special experience for all who join us. We’re excited to move forward with this project and expect to be well-received by the public.”
The 14-week music series will run through Thursday, Sept. 15. Local bands will perform until dusk throughout the summer. Three large bonfire pits are available for public usage.
Ethan Keller, recent winner of the 2011 Radio Milwaukee Music Award for Solo Artist of the Year will kick off the series.
The Beach Hut will offer happy hour drink specials including $5 cocktails, $3 Pabst beer and $10 buckets of Corona and Pabst beers.

Northwestern Mutual to sponsor Wilson on PGA Tour
Four-time PGA Tour champion golfer Mark Wilson has signed a multi-year sponsorship agreement with Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Inc. of Milwaukee.
Under the terms of the agreement, Northwestern Mutual’s logo will be prominently displayed on Wilson’s apparel during professional competition, beginning with the 2011 U.S. Open Championship, June 16-19. Additionally, Northwestern Mutual will receive category exclusivity and the right to use Wilson’s name and likeness in marketing promotions. The deal also includes personal appearances by Wilson on behalf of Northwestern Mutual, and social media efforts throughout the agreement.
Wilson ranks at third in FedExCup points, seventh on the PGA Tour money list and is ranked 56th in the world. He had victories at the 2011 Waste Management Phoenix Open and the Sony Open in Hawaii, earning him his first trip to the Masters.
