What is your core philosophy for doing business? โ€œIn the non-profit sector, where resources are often limited, itโ€™s especially important to understand why resources need to be strategically aligned with mission. The opportunities can be overwhelming and you have to learn to say โ€œnoโ€ to projects that can take you off track and off mission.โ€
Who is your role model and why? โ€œI have two: Peter Marzio, director, Museum of Fine Arts in Houston, who died recently but was a remarkable fundraiser, and Klaus Schroeder, director of the Albertina in Vienna, who does a great job of balancing scholarly integrity and popular appeal in exhibitions.โ€
What was the funniest thing that has ever happened to you? โ€œI met my husband in my freshman French class in college. He was the teaching assistant and I was the student. After the first class I returned to my dorm room and told my two roommates that I had just met the man I was going to marry.โ€
