- Friday, April 1 Easter Seals of Southeastern Wisconsin will host Act For Autism Night with the Milwaukee Admirals at the Bradley Center beginning at 7 p.m. The Milwaukee Admirals will take on the Houston Aeros. Tickets for the game cost $15 and $3 of each ticket sold will go to Easter Seals to support programming for Autism. In addition, guests can also purchase raffle tickets in section 217 of the game for a chance to win Frontier Fly Bucks card worth $500, Milwaukee Admirals memorabilia and other prizes. - Saturday, April 2 Journey House will host its Annual Journey to the Center of Your Heart Gala & Auction at the Hilton Milwaukee City Center, 509 W. - Tuesday, April 5 through Thursday April 7 The Council for the Spanish Speaking, Inc., in partnership with Souder, Betances & Associates will host the National Education Conference, “Educating & Graduating Latino High School Students.” The conference will be held at the Wyndham Airport Hotel & Conference Center and will facilitate qualitative and proven strategies aimed at improving the content of high school education for Latino students who must prepare for admission and completion of college. - Tuesday, April 12 United Way in Waukesha County’s Volunteer Center will host its annual ‘Inspire by Example’ Volunteer Recognition and Celebration Luncheon on at Country Springs Hotel and Resort, 2810 Golf Road in Pewaukee, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.The ‘Inspire by Example’ Recognition luncheon will feature stories of outstanding volunteerism throughout Waukesha County. - Saturday, April 16 The Men of Tomorrow, a charitable youth organization, will hold its annual clothing drive at St. Mark A.M.E. on 16th St. and Atkinson Ave., from 8a.m. to 4 p.m. All donations are tax deductible and go to help Goodwill Industries of Southeastern Wisconsin, Inc. Men of Tomorrow’s mission is to prepare young African American and other minority males for successful transition from youth to adulthood by helping them develop awareness and skills based on economic, social, cultural and spiritual components.
- Thursday, May 12, the Center for Communication, Hearing & Deafness will host its eighth annual Gardens Luncheon at the Woman’s Club of Wisconsin from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. “Birds, Butterflies & Blossoms” will feature gardening expert Melinda Myers and emcee Tiffany Ogle, co-host of The Morning Blend. All proceeds support children’s programs at the Center, to help children with hearing loss develop critical language and literacy skills. - Saturday, May 21 Sillwaters Cancer Support Services along with honorary chair Joe Bartolotta will host the first ever Hospital Food Fight at the Tommy G. Thompson Center, 640 S. 84th St., West Allis from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The ‘Iron-Chef-Type” competition will feature head chefs from area hospitals as they compete for the title of Best Hospital Food in Wisconsin. Restaurants, grocers and hospitals will provide food and beverage samples as refreshments. Ted Perry of Fox 6 News will emcee the event. Cost to attend is $35 before May 4.
