Zilli Hospitality Group

The Milwaukee Community Sailing Center has formed a new three-year partnership with Zilli Hospitality Group. The sailing facility provides lake views from its 6,000-square-foot eco-friendly structure with a community room, observation deck and classrooms. The facility offers free adjacent parking, free Wi-Fi throughout the building, an outdoor deck, and a large multi-media screen for business meetings and video presentations. Zilli’s provides a variety of menu choices and entertainment options for events.

Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin

The United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) has ranked Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin 6th in the nation for pediatric heart transplant volume in 2010. UNOS is a nonprofit organization contracted with the United States government to manage the nation’s organ transplant system. Children’s Hospital transplanted 15 pediatric heart patients in 2010, breaking previous hospital records. Since the heart program’s inception in 1991, 103 heart transplants have been performed. More than half of the center’s total transplant volume has occurred in the past five years.

Froedtert Hospital

Froedtert Hospital and Health System was recently ranked first in Milwaukee by U.S. News and World Report’s first ever America’s Best Hospitals metropolitan area guide. The new metro rankings cite 622 hospitals in or near major cities with a record of high performance in key medical specialties. To be ranked in its metro area, a hospital had to score in the top 25 percent among its peers in at least one of 16 medical specialties. Froedtert Hospital was recognized for 11 medical specialties: gastroenterology, cancer, diabetes and endocrinology, ear, nose and throat, geriatrics, gynecology, heart and heart surgery, kidney disease, orthopedics, pulmonary and urology. In the U.S. News rankings for Milwaukee area hospitals, Aurora St Luke’s Medical Center was ranked 2nd, Aurora Sinai Medical Center ranked 3rd, Aurora West Allis Medical Center ranked 4th, Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare-St Joseph ranked 5th and Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital ranked 6th. Columbia St. Mary’s

Columbia St. Mary’s and the Word of Hope Ministries recently opened a Community Chronic Disease Management Clinic at Holy Cathedral Church of God in Christ, 2677 N. 40th St, Milwaukee. The clinic will assess and treat uninsured people with hypertension and non-insulin dependent diabetes. The Word of Hope Community Chronic Disease Management Clinic will be open each Monday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This is the second Community Chronic Disease Management Clinic in Milwaukee. The first site opened at the New Life Food Pantry, 205 E. Concordia Ave., Milwaukee, in 2006 through funding by the Healthier Wisconsin Partnership Program, a component of the Advancing Healthier Wisconsin endowment at the Medical College of Wisconsin. The New Life Food Pantry location has treated more than 400 patients during the past four years.

Hal Leonard

Milwaukee-based Hal Leonard Corp. has announced a new deal that goes into effect in May that expands the company’s rights to distribute the catalog of Jawbone Press, a leading independent music book publisher based in London and San Francisco. Hal Leonard has been distributing the line to music stores around the world since Jawbone’s launch in 2007, but will now be able to also sell their publications to the book trade in North America, Australia and Asia. Jawbone has forged a reputation for publishing informed commentary on popular music by some of the world’s best writers on the subject.
