Mequon issues RFP for 13-acre “town center” site

The City of Mequon issued a request for proposals seeking development proposals for a 13-acre city-owned site along Mequon Road between North Buntrock Avenue and the Ozaukee Interurban Trail.

To help attract developers to the site, the city is offering the property for $1.

Joe Eldredge of Colliers International|Wiscosin is marketing the site for the city.

The site is located near Mequon Community Park, Mequon City Hall, the Mequon Police Department and the mixed-use Mequon Town Center development that is being built by WiRED Properties.

The 13-acre site has a town center zoning and the city’s master plan calls for a high-quality mixed use town center development there.

“We envision a revitalized commercial district, which is pedestrian-oriented with an urban feel,” said Kim Tollefson, director of community development for Mequon.

Development proposals for the site are due to Eldredge at Colliers no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 18.
