Fourteen Wisconsin-based companies are among the 500 firms honored as “America’s Best Employers” for 2015 by Forbes magazine.
In partnership with Statista.com, Forbes asked more than 20,000 American workers at large U.S. companies, nonprofits, government agencies and U.S. divisions of multinational firms a simple question: “On a scale of 0-10, how likely would you be to recommend your employer to someone else?”
The top-ranked Wisconsin company was Milwaukee-based Harley-Davidson Inc., which ranked 10th on the list. Other southeastern Wisconsin-based manufacturers on the list included: Milwaukee-based Highfield Manufacturing (177th); Glendale-based Johnson Controls Inc. (219th); Milwaukee-based Rockwell Automation Inc. (240th); and Sussex-based Quad/Graphics Inc. (456th).
The top three companies on the national list were Google, Costco Wholesale and Marathon Petroleum.

In other news, the Waukesha County Business Alliance and BizTimes Media have announced the 2015 Top 10 Businesses of the Year.
Among the businesses were the following manufacturers: Waukesha-based Aries Industries Inc.; Hartland-based EmbedTek LLC; Waukesha-based Generac Power Systems Inc.; Waukesha-based HUSCO International; and Menomonee Falls-based Tailored Label Products Inc.
The annual awards program recognizes companies headquartered in southeastern Wisconsin that have demonstrated consistent financial growth and dedication to good business practices through employee relations, customer-focused commitment and community service involvement.
The Top 10 Businesses of the Year will be honored at a luncheon to be presented by the Waukesha County Business Alliance and BizTimes Media on Thursday, June 11 at 11:30 a.m. at the Country Springs Hotel in Pewaukee. To register to attend, click here.
Finally, Harley-Davidson Motor Company of Milwaukee was named by Newaukee as one of the best places in Wisconsin for young professionals to work, after a panel of young professional leaders from across the state vetted nominations submitted by employees.
Winners will receive “Bubbler Awards” and will be honored at a ceremony held during YPWeek Wisconsin’s kickoff on Saturday in Wausau.
