Explosion, fire reported at ACME Galvanizing

An explosion and fire were reported this morning at ACME Galvanizing, a metal coating facility located at 2730 S. 19th St. in Milwaukee’s south side.

A neighbor said a series of booms began around 7:50 a.m. A worker inside the building at the time of the explosion told WISN 12 News that propane tanks were being filled when there was an issue, which was sparked by a nearby fork truck.  An explosion then ensued.
