In celebration of its 140th anniversary, Roundyโs Supermarkets, headquartered in Milwaukee, will devote a week in October to community outreach efforts in gratitude to the customer base that has largely contributed to its development.
โWe are proud of Roundyโs rich heritage, how the company has evolved and the course weโve set for the future,โ said Bob Mariano, Roundyโs chairman and CEO. โWe wanted to pause and reflect on the past 140 years and thank our customers and employees for being the reason for our success.โ
The week of giving back, scheduled for Monday, Oct. 8, through Friday, Oct. 12, will include a delivery of $267,000 worth of food and funds to 60 food pantries in Wisconsin communities like Appleton, Delafield, Fond du Lac, Madison and Milwaukee in addition to communities in Minnesota. Roundyโs Foundation truck will deliver the goods over the five days of service.
The week will also feature brat cookouts to support local charities at stores in Milwaukee, Appleton, Stevens Point, Delafield and Madison.
All Roundyโs stores, which encompass Pick โn Save, Copps, Rainbow, Metro Market, and Marianoโs, will offer customers the opportunity to buy pin-ups to contribute to the hunger relief efforts of Feeding America or Second Harvest.
