The Forest County Potawatomi tribe will hold a groundbreaking ceremony on July 12 to celebrate the start of construction of a 20-story, 382-room hotel next to its Potawatomi Bingo Casino in the Menomonee Valley in Milwaukee.

Actual construction work for the $150 million project will start within a few days of the groundbreaking ceremony, said Ryan Amundson, spokesman for Potawatomi Bingo Casino.

“We’re in the final stages of financing,” he said. “We’re fully confident that we will be ready for groundbreaking.”

It will take about two years to build the hotel.

The hotel will be joined to the casino by a two-story connecting structure. The project also includes a four-level, 480 stall parking structure that will be built directly to the east of the existing parking structures south of the casino.

Minneapolis-based Cuningham Group is the architect for the project.
