Wauwatosa-based Wangard is working on plans for an addition of up to 165,000 square feet of space and nine stories tall, which would be built on top of the parking structure just south of its 209,000-square-foot office building at 875 E. Wisconsin Ave. in downtown Milwaukee.
Investment management firm Artisan Partners recently announced that it has renewed its lease of 82,700 square feet of space in the 875 E. Wisconsin Ave. building and that its future expansion plans could trigger Wangard’s planned addition.
In fact, Artisan Partners will determine when the addition is built, said Steward Wangard, chief executive officer, chairman and founder of Wangard. “The expansion will occur when they request it,” he said. “We’ve had regular communications with Artisan about their space needs.”
