University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee has awarded the Melvin Lurie Prize to Strattec Security Corporation and United Steelworkers 2-232.
The prize honors individuals or bargaining partners for outstanding service to the cause of promoting and creating labor-management cooperation.
Diane Neeley, USW grievance representative and Steve Tolfa, Strattec senior operations manager, accepted the award. They described the ongoing and open communication that has led to their success.
“The extent of cooperation between the USW and STRATTEC management is unprecedented,” said UWM Professor John Heywood. “They share goals and commitment, they communicate extremely well and they earnestly work together to solve problems jointly.”
