Region’s retail market has flat Q3

The southeastern Wisconsin retial real estate market posted its sixth consecutive quarter of positive absorption during the third quarter, but only absorbed 22,978 square feet of space and its vacancy rate of 7.7 percent was virtually unchanged from the second quarter, according to the third quarter report from Xceligent and CARW.

That compares to a second quarter absorption of about 280,000 square feet of space.

Despite only 1.1 million square feet of positive retail space absorption in the region over the last five quarters, the vacancy rate has only dropped 0.1 percent in the last year as new retail buildings added to the market supply.
