UNCA to merge membership with the Alliance for Children and Families

United Neighborhood Centers of America (UNCA) and the Alliance for Children and Families will combine their memberships in January 2014 to strengthen their community impact with a consolidated network of more than 500 local organizations.

UNCA is a national nonprofit membership-based organization composed of nearly 150 neighborhood centers throughout the country, and the Alliance is a 102-year-old organization that represents, supports and connects hundreds of nonprofit organizations serving children, adults and families in need.

The two national organizations, both headquartered in Milwaukee, have a history of collaboration.

Under the new structure, current UNCA member organizations will transition into full members and owners of the Alliance.

As part of its new direction, the Alliance will open a national resource center for engagement and neighborhood building. The center will provide a communal space for neighbors and leaders working toward positive change in public policy and improvements in residential services.
