Brookfield-based Vrakas/Blum, S.C. has named Brad Hermes a new shareholder. Hermes has been with the firm since 1998 and most recently served as a principal in the audit and business advisory department. Hermes is a certified public accountant with expertise in providing assurance, business advisory and strategic planning services to clients in manufacturing, construction, distribution, software and service sectors.

Menomonee Falls-based Sattell, Johnson, Appel & Co., S.C. recently added Cassie Zurn and Dan McGinnis to its tax department and also added Tony Revolinski to its accounting and auditing department.

Komisar Brady & Co., LLP, headquartered in Milwaukee, recently hired John Sanders as manager-in-charge of the firm’s Brookfield office. Sanders brings 30 years of industry experience to his new position. He will work at the firm’s Brookfield and Milwaukee offices from May through December and will spend tax season exclusively at the Brookfield office. Komisar Brady & Co., LLP also recently added Keri Patterson as a staff accountant. Patterson brings more than three years of audit experience to the firm.

The 10th Street Gallery, under Milwaukee’s In Tandem Theatre, has named Jason Altobelli gallery curator. In his new role, Altobelli will manage the gallery’s Artist-In-Residence and High School Workshop Program. He will also open up new opportunities to highlight local visual arts and artists and will develop new programming to take full advantage of the gallery’s space located in the theatre’s lobby.

Banking & Finance

Johnson Financial Group has hired Jill Haupt as senior vice president-private banking manager in Racine. Haupt has more than 25 years of management experience in consumer and small business lending, credit, sales management and deposit product development. She most recently was vice president at BMO Harris Bank and previously spent more than 10 years as senior vice president at Associated Bank.

First Bank Financial Centre has promoted Jacob Scheider to commercial lender. He has been a staff member of the bank’s Hartford branch for two years, specializing in commercial lending.

Elm Grove-based Annex Wealth Management has named Melissa Case chief financial officer. Case, who is a certified public accountant, has more than 12 years of experience in finance and accounting and most recently worked as a controller for R.A. Smith National, Inc. in Brookfield. In her new leadership position, she will manage the firm’s financial operations and accounting.

Ameriprise Financial has hired Scott Jenson as a financial advisor in its Brookfield office. Jenson has more than 19 years of financial experience and previously as a financial advisor at Wells Fargo Advisors. Ameriprise Financial has also added Katie Braun to its Brookfield office as a financial advisor. Prior to her new position, Braun worked at Jannsen Wealth Management.

Milwaukee-based Northwestern Mutual has promoted Timothy Schaefer to executive vice president – operations and technology. Schaefer has also joined the company’s management committee. He has worked for Northwestern Mutual since 1988 and has held a number of leadership positions throughout his tenure, including vice president of life benefits, chief information officer and head of the Information Systems department.

Building & Construction

Waukesha-based Spancrete has added Paul Anderson as director of information technology. Anderson has more than 25 years of experience in technology. At Spancrete, his responsibilities will include developing customer, warehouse and Oracle applications.

Design

Eagle Mountain Promotions, based in Oconomowoc, had added Pat Ornberg as a corporate meetings and events planner. Ornberg, wife of owner and chief executive officer Rick Ornberg, has more than 25 years of experience as an executive director of chambers. Prior to joining Eagle Mount Promotions, she retired from her position as executive director of the Oconomowoc Area Chamber of Commerce.

Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) has expanded its faculty with the appointment of Dr. Anne Alexander, assistant professor, Physics and Chemistry Department; Dr. Robert Hasker, associate professor, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Department; Dr. Steven Holland, assistant professor, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Department; Brian King, assistant professor, School of Nursing; Dr. Adam Livingston, assistant professor, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Department; Katie A. Environmental

Advanced Disposal, in Muskego, has hired Chad Basten as sales manager. Prior to his new position, Basten served as regional director of sales at Bisco Industries. At Advanced Disposal, he will manage daily commercial and industrial sales and marketing tasks for southeastern Wisconsin and Missouri.

Health Care

Rogers Memorial Hospital has added Dr. John Franzen as an adult psychiatrist specializing in addiction medicine. Franzen most recently served as an adult psychiatric hospitalist at Bryan LGH Hospital in Nebraska and worked with patients at Faith Regional Health Services, also in Nebraska. In his new role, Franzen will primarily consult patients at the Herrington Recovery Center in Oconomowoc.

ProHealth Care has added endocrinologist Dr. William Crelin. Crelin, who is also board certified in internal medicine, will continue working with patients in his office located in the professional office building that is connected to Waukesha Memorial Hospital.

The Medical Society of Milwaukee County (MSMC) has named Kathleen Schmitz executive vice president. Schmitz brings more than 25 years of experience as an executive in health care, marketing communications, public relations and media relations to the medical society. She most recently worked as the chief communications officer and spokesperson for Columbia St. Mary’s Health System in Milwaukee. In her new role, she will be part of the society’s Board of Directors, focusing on strategic direction and operational leadership as well as management of community relations and community initiatives.

Insurance

Brookfield-based Diversified Insurance Solutions recently appointed Beth Heal director, employer solutions. Heal brings more than 20 years of human resources experience to the company. Prior to joining Diversified Insurance Solutions, she worked as an HR consultant. The company also recently promoted Dawn Pfeiffer to account coordinator, employee benefits. Pfeiffer has worked for Diversified Insurance Solutions for six years and has her Health Insurance Associate and Associate, Life and Health Claims designations.

Legal Services

Shareholder Albert Orr has been elected to Reinhart Boerner Van Deuren s.c.’s Board of Directors for a three-year term. Orr co-chairs the law firm’s Business Law Practice and chairs its Private Equity, Venture Capital and Corporate Finance Group. He works out of Milwaukee. The firm also recently announced that shareholder Larri Broomfield, of Milwaukee, has been re-elected to the board for a three-year term. Broomfield co-chairs the firm’s Health Care Practice and serves as a member of its Business Law Practice.

Management Services

Brookfield-based Patina Solutions recently named Garry Barnes national practice director of its life sciences practice. Barnes will expand the company’s service offerings for a variety of life science projects and engagements and, in doing so, will work with other company offices located across the country. He will also help develop a team of experienced and capable life science executives and managers.

Manufacturing

Pewaukee-based TLX Technologies has welcomed Brent Hoefert as a production supervisor for the company’s manufacturing operations. Hoefert brings more than 20 years of experience in production supervision to his new position.

St. Francis-based Wixon has hired Rita Singer as a food technologist in its Protein, Application, and Seasoning Lab. Singer brings more than 12 years of industry experience to Wixon with previous experience as product development manager at Signature Brands and senior food scientist at Griffith Laboratories. In her new position, she will focus on developing protein customers’ new products, such as seasoning blends and flavor systems.

Nonprofit

Thomas Pina Windsor, executive vice president of Brookfield-based SysLogic, Inc., has been added to the Board of Directors of the American Heart Association, Midwest Affiliate. Windsor, who is a heart disease survivor, a volunteer for the metro-Milwaukee office of the American Heart Association, and a member of the Health Equity Council, will serve a two-year term on the board. As a member of the Board of Directors, he will help manage the association’s local revenue and health impact activities. He will also help guide the association’s health efforts in 11 states.

Technology

Mequon-based MSI Data has welcomed Jim Robinson to the newly created position of vice president of professional services. Robinson has about 20 years of experience in field service management and business process automation. He most recently served as business solutions architect and senior project manager at WennSoft. His specialties include program, project and product management.
