MillerCoors announced that it will lay off 200 salaried employees, 27 of whom are based in Milwaukee. It will also eliminate 160 open salaried positions.
The layoff represents 2 percent of the Chicago-based company’s total workforce and 6 percent of its salaried workforce.
Spokesman Jonathan Stern cited the need to create a more balanced, efficient organizational structure, as well as reduce costs, drive accountability, improve execution and increase speed to market.
“MillerCoors believes these moves will allow more financial flexibility to help the company meet long-term investment requirements in its brands and breweries while at the same time achieve its operating margin and profitability goals,” Stern said.
