*Thursday, Aug. 1, Target Free First Thursday will grant free admission to visitors at the Milwaukee Art Museum, 700 N. Art Museum Dr. in Milwaukee. *Thursday, Aug. 1, Jazz in the Park will feature live music at Milwaukee’s Cathedral Square Park, located on East Wells Street and North Jackson Street. The weekly summer music event runs from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a happy hour starting at 5 p.m. The event is free and open to the public, and attendees are encouraged to purchase food and beverages from area vendors. *Friday, Aug. 2, the 3rd annual Urban Island Beach Party will bring live music, a limbo contest, interactive art experiences, and free kayaking and paddleboarding among other activities to Lakeshore State Park, 500 N. Harbor Dr. in Milwaukee. The event, which caps Milwaukee’s Downtown Employee Appreciation Week, will raise funds to support Milwaukee-based nonprofit organization Friends of Lakeshore State Park. The party will run from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. and is free and open to the public. Attendees who boat, bike, bus or kayak to the beach celebration will receive a free beverage. *Friday, Aug. 2, through Sunday, Aug. 4, the Milwaukee Brewers are scheduled to play home games against the Washington Nationals at Miller Park, 1 Brewers Way in Milwaukee. *Tuesday, Aug. 6, the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce (MMAC) will present the 2013 Summer Splash Boat Cruise. The event will feature a boat ride for young professionals provided by Milwaukee Boat Line. The boat cruise will run from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and costs $30 for MMAC or FUEL Milwaukee members, $15 for employer member interns and $30 for non-members. *Wednesday, Aug. 7, Live @ The Lakefront will feature Nabori, an authentic salsa band composed of musicians from Milwaukee and Chicago. The free weekly summer music event runs from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the outdoor Rotary Amphitheater at Discovery World, located at 500 N. Harbor Dr. in Milwaukee. Seating is based on first come, first served. The concert takes places rain or shine with a backup location in Discover World’s indoor Promenade.
