Sullivan named CEO of Gardner Denver

Former Bucyrus International Inc. chief executive officer Tim Sullivan has been named president and CEO of Gardner Denver Inc., a Wayne, Pa.-based manufacturer of compressors, blowers, pumps and other fluid transfer equipment.

 

Sullivan, 60, worked for Bucyrus for 35 years prior to Caterpillar Inc.’s acquisition of the South Milwaukee-based company in July 2011. Sullivan served as president and chief executive officer of Bucyrus and was also a member of its board of directors.

Recently Sullivan has also served as chair of the Wisconsin Council on Workforce Investment, chair of the Wisconsin Mining Association, and a special consultant for business and workforce development for the state of Wisconsin.

His new leadership position at Gardner Denver will take effect immediately.

“I am enthusiastic about leading Gardner Denver, and I am confident in the near- and long-term potential of the business,” Sullivan said. “Gardner Denver has a highly diversified business portfolio of market-leading products and solutions, strong customer relationships and a passionate team of highly talented employees.”

As he transitions into his new role, Sullivan said Gardner Denver is “well positioned” to capitalize on opportunities in the pipeline.

“I look forward to working closely with the board and leadership team to refine the company’s strategy, enhance performance and build upon the company’s positive momentum,” Sullivan said.

Gardner Denver was acquired by global investment firm KKR, based in New York City, N.Y., at the end of July. The acquisition of Gardner Denver was valued at $3.9 billion.
