Michael Crowley Jr., chairman and CEO of Brown Deer-based Bank Mutual Corp., has informed the company’s board of directors he will retire on July 1.
Current President David Baumgarten will now also take on the CEO role.
Baumgarten has been president since 2010. Before that, he served as executive vice president – regional banking at Associated Banc-Corp.

Crowley will continue as a non-executive chairman, according to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing.
Both will continue to serve on the boards of directors of the company and bank.
