Ewald to expand Franklin auto dealership

Ewald Auto Group plans to acquire the Hale Park Lumber & Millwork Inc. property at 6321 S. 108th St. to expand its Ewald Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram dealership next door at 6319 S. 108th St.

Hale Park Lumber is in the process of going out of business, according to a City of Franklin Plan Commission report. Ewald Auto Group is in negotiations to purchase the 3.56-acre property, according to the report. The property has an assessed value of $1,125,700, according to Milwaukee County records.

The property has several buildings: a 5,200-square-foot main building, a 9,200-square-foot lumber storage building, a 4,300-square-foot lumber storage buildinga 3,900 square-foot lumber storage building and a 3,050-square-foot lumber storage building.

Ewald plans to use  the 5,200-square-foot main building on the property for sales and administrative offices and for an indoor showroom. Ewald also plans to display vehicles on paved areas of the property, according to the city report.

Ewald indicates that the Hale Park Lumber & Millwork property will be used for display, sale, lease and rental of new and used vhicles, trucks and recreational vehicles. Ewald’s Airstream of Wisconsin is also located nearby at 6289 S. 108th St.

Ewald plans to keep all of the existing buildings on the property for now, according to the city report.

The operations on the property will have a staff of about 15 employees, according to the city report.

An executive with Ewald could not be reached for comment.
