After seven years leading Tempo Milwaukee, a membership business association comprised of about 300 women executives, Tracy Johnson is transitioning into the role of president and CEO at The Commercial Association of Realtors Wisconsin.
CARW, a statewide association with close to 600 members, serves professionals in commercial real estate brokerage and related careers. The association is headquartered in Milwaukee.
Johnson, whose official start date is May 12, succeeds Jim Villa, who is moving to the University of Wisconsin System after a six-year run with the association.
“Tracy has all of the skillsets we looked for in our CEO search,” said Tom Shepherd, board chair of CARW. “She’s a proven leader and a very well-rounded executive who can wear the many different hats required by this key position. Tracy’s passion for the business community and the economic growth of Wisconsin is very evident. At CARW, we are proud of our successes over our first 20 years, and we look forward to a very bright future with Tracy at the helm.”
In addition to overseeing the association, Johnson will serve as executive director of the Certified Commercial Investment Member Wisconsin Chapter, the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors Wisconsin Chapter, and Real Estate Alliance for Charities. All three organizations are closely tied to CARW.
“I’m honored to lead an organization whose members are creating jobs, building our communities and driving economic development,” Johnson said. “I look forward to advancing our members’ personal and professional impact across Wisconsin.”
