Rogers Memorial expands in West Allis

Rogers Memorial Hospital-West Allis is expanding to meet the community’s need for access to quality mental health care.

To serve its growing patient base, intensive outpatient programs (IOP) and partial hospitalization programs (PHP) are moving to a new location approximately one mile from the existing Rogers hospital campus, effective May 12.

“Our goal for the new space is not only to facilitate strong psychiatric care, but to utilize design to enhance treatment. The spacious rooms, large windows and use of natural color tones are specifically designed to support recovery and promote comfort and healing,” said T. Orvin Fillman, DrPH, vice president of Rogers’ West Allis operations.

Located at Lincoln Center 1 on South 102nd Street, the newly renovated 10,800-square-foot expansion includes six treatment-based group rooms, eight consult rooms, family therapy rooms, an art therapy room, a dining area and more space for patients to work on their treatment and recovery.

“With the move of the intensive outpatient and partial programs, Rogers will be able to increase available space for treatment activities for our inpatient and child and adolescent day treatment programs with more family consult and group rooms, a larger classroom for educational needs, a new chapel and new living room area,” Fillman said.

Programming for general mental health, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and anxiety, eating disorders and addiction will begin at the new location on May 12. In addition, a new partial program for single-occurrence post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) will open May 19, and another program for young adults with opiate addiction will open later this summer.

This is Rogers’ second West Allis hospital expansion since the facility opened in 2000. Five years ago, Rogers doubled the size of the hospital by adding a private admissions area, an improved reception and waiting area, as well as additional treatment space.
