Milwaukee-based Robert W. Baird & Co. Inc. celebrated the philanthropic work of Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers Thursday night, when the firm honored him with the Baird Community Involved Player of the Year Award.

Steve Booth, president and chief operating officer of Baird, saluted Rodgers with the award during the third annual Wisconsin Sports Awards, held at the Milwaukee School of Engineerโ€™s Kern Center.

Rodgers received the award for his โ€œongoing commitment to the community and his support of a wide variety of causes and charitable events,โ€ according a statement from Baird.

Among Rodgersโ€™ most significant philanthropic efforts has been his support of the Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer, Inc., which centers on funding research of childhood cancer and related blood disorders. Since 2010, Rodgers has hosted a Milwaukee fundraising banquet known as โ€œAn Evening with Aaron Rodgersโ€ to benefit the MACC Fund.

To further Rodgersโ€™ support of the MACC Fund, Baird has committed $5,000 to the organization.

โ€œBaird is very pleased to recognize Aaron for his dedication and commitment to making a difference by presenting him with the Baird Community Involved Player of the Year Award,โ€ Booth said. โ€œHe sets a terrific example of giving back that has inspired many others to do the same. This award aligns well with Bairdโ€™s longstanding tradition of giving back to the communities in which our associates live and work.โ€

Additionally, Rodgers has supported the Salvation Army and the University of Wisconsin Carbone Cancer Center as well as participated in several sports charity events.
