The Milwaukee Art Museum recently unveiled designs for its planned 17,000-square-foot, two-story addition and renovation plans for the Eero Saarinen designed building and the David Kahler designed building of the MAM and Milwaukee County War Memorial complex at the lakefront in downtown Milwaukee. MAM will provide $15 million and Milwaukee County will provide $10 million for the upgrades, which will include the addition and repairs to the Saarinen and Kahler buildings. The project will bring gallery space in the buildings up to art museum standards (eliminating leaks), will increase gallery space, will create a new lakeside entrance and will add additional bathrooms. HGA Architects and Engineers is the design firm for the project.
