Cedar Square LLC plans to build a three-story building on a vacant lot at 1436 W. Kilbourn Ave., near the Marquette University campus in Milwaukee, which will be occupied by the Alpha Xi Delta sorority.
The Alpha Xi Delta sorority at Marquette currently occupies a building at 854 N. 17th St.
The new building for the sorority will have 21 bedrooms. Each of the three floors will have two full bathrooms, a laundry room, a kitchen and a family room. The first floor will also have a dining room and a study room. The building will have two sets of stairs that will go up to the second and third floors.
Cedar Square LLC owns several rental properties near the Marquette campus that provide housing for students.
The sorority house proposal will be reviewed on May 8 by the city’s Board of Zoning Appeals.
