John Schlifske, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Co., has been ranked fourth among the 50 Highest Rated CEOs by Glassdoor.
The online career and workplace community polled employees from each of the companies with one question: “Do you approve or disapprove of the way your CEO is leading the company?”
Schlifske received a 95 percent approval rating from Northwestern Mutual’s participating employees and independent financial representatives.
Jeff Weiner of LinkedIn, Alan Mulally of Ford Motor Co. and Richard Edelman of Edelman took first, second and third, respectively. Paul Jacobs of Qualcomm rounded out the top five.
Schlifske beat out the likes of Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz, Google’s Larry Page and Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg.
“This recognition reflects the strength and excellence of our management team and our field management, particularly our managing partners,” said Schlifske. “It’s an honor to represent our employees and financial representatives, as they have been the driving force behind our success for the past 157 years.”
