Milwaukee-based Rockwell Automation is extending its partnership with City Year Milwaukee for a fourth year through a $100,000 donation that will enable the nonprofit to plant more tutors and mentors in Milwaukee Public Schools.
Since City Year Milwaukee launched in 2010, Rockwell Automation has funded more than $420,000 in support of the organization’s mission to work with students in underserved high schools and keep them from dropping out.
City Year Milwaukee, which is one of 25 City Year branches in the United States, currently partners with eight schools in Milwaukee.
With its recent $100,000 gift, Rockwell Automation will serve as the sponsor of the City Year team stationed at Milwaukee’s Rogers Street Academy.
“Rockwell Automation has been vital to City Year Milwaukee’s success since our founding, contributing time, talent and resources,” said Jason Holton, executive director and vice president of the organization. “Their generous support provides City Year Milwaukee with the opportunity to continue to provide essential services to students we serve.”
