Brown Deer-based Bank Mutual Corp. has named James P. Carter vice president and secretary. Carter will replace Eugene H. Maurer, its current secretary, who is retiring later this year. Carter is currently vice president and corporate counsel of the company’s subsidiary, Bank Mutual. He has been with the bank since 1988.
First Bank Financial Centre has promoted Matthew Schwechel to vice president from commercial lender. Schwechel has twelve years of banking experience at First Bank Financial Centre, and has spent the past five years working as a commercial lender. “Matt has been instrumental in developing business relationships within the Hartford area and surrounding communities. He has an incredibly strong focus on our customers; he counsels our customers on loan management and offers solid financial strategies” says Mark McCune, Chief Lending Officer at First Bank Financial Centre.
Wells Fargo has expanded its commercial lending team in Milwaukee. The bank recently hired Robert Valcq vice president, senior business relationship manager. Valcq previously served as vice president of Wisconsin corporate banking for Harris Bank and assistant vice president of commercial banking for Associated Bank. Valcq also is a member of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Wisconsin and is originally from Franklin.
Wells Fargo also recently hired Christopher Wilz as business sales officer for the Milwaukee business banking team. Wilz served as a vice president for GE Capital and an officer for M&I Bank, prior to joining Wells Fargo. Wilz also is a member of the Lions Club and serves as secretary for the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors. He is originally from Stevens Point.
