Volunteers are starting construction this week on 10 homes in Milwaukee’s Harambee neighborhood.
This week Habitat for Humanity and Thrivent Financial for Lutherans are hosting their 4th annual Thrivent Builds with Habitat Week.
This week Thrivent Financial members and other volunteers are working with Habitat families to start the construction of 10 homes in Milwaukee’s Harambee neighborhood. Eight homes are under construction and two more will be built this summer. The homes are located in the 3000 block of North Richards Street, the 200 block of East Burleigh Street and the 3100 Block of North Buffum Street.
By the end of this year Thrivent Financial will have contributed more than $2.6 million to help Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity build 40 homes, from 2006-09, for low income families.
