Woodrow Wilson Awards

The Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars of the Smithsonian Institution recently presented the Woodrow Wilson Award for Public Service to Major League Baseball Commissioner Allan "Bud" Selig and the Woodrow Wilson Award for Corporate Citizenship to Jeffrey Joerres, chief executive officer of Manpower Inc. Sheldon Lubar, founder and Chairman of Lubar & Co., and Edward Zore, president, CEO, and trustee of Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company Inc., served as dinner co-chairmen for the event, which was held at the Pfister Hotel in downtown Milwaukee. "Milwaukee has benefited greatly from these honorees’ corporate, civic, and cultural contributions, and I am very pleased the Center has an opportunity to recognize their achievements with these awards," said Lee Hamilton, president and director of the Woodrow Wilson Center. The Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars is the living, national memorial to President Wilson established by Congress in 1968 and headquartered in Washington, D.C.
