Lyle Husar Designs, Brookfield, has unveiled a $5,000 custom designed “Magical Moonlight Diamond Pendant.” The necklace will be part of the voice auction at the Waukesha Symphony Leagues Ball “Under A Diamond Sky,” on Saturday, April 19, at the Grand Ballroom of the Sheraton Hotel in Brookfield. Lyle Husar Designs is a major sponsor of the Waukesha Symphony Orchestras 2007/2008 season. The pendant is composed of six rings, cast in 18 karat yellow gold, representing the six decades of the symphony’s history. The center of the pendant was created with 18 karat white gold and set with 60 micro pave set Hearts On Fire Diamonds. The 60 diamonds signify the 60th anniversary of the Waukesha Symphony Orchestra.

The kiosk has been custom designed for the health care industry, featuring HIPPA compliant options such as a privacy monitor and retracting printers with two output size options. My Patient Passport Express has been in development for more than two years.

Richard Smith, president and owner of R.A. Smith National, Brookfield, has received the 2007 Engineer of the Year Award from Engineers & Scientists of Milwaukee (ESM). The ESM Engineer of the Year award is presented annually to an outstanding contributor to the engineering profession from the greater Milwaukee area. This person helps to raise the visibility of the profession and ESM, while also serving as a role model to others who have or may select the engineering profession as a career. Candidates were evaluated in several areas including engineering education, new product development, contributions to engineering education, community and public service, economic development activities, service to professional societies and national visibility. Smith was nominated by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), Southeast Branch.

Scheibel Halaska, Milwaukee, recently announced that it has continued to expand its practice globally and will now handle marketing communication efforts for Frigel Firenze’s global holdings. Scheibel Halaska expanded upon its responsibilities for Frigel North America’s marketing communications. Frigel Firenze, headquartered in Florence, Italy, provides process cooling solutions to industrial manufacturing companies. Scheibel Halaska said that it intends to capitalize on its partnership with IPREX, an international public relations network, to help craft an international brand position that is viable across borders and in all cultures. Scheibel Halaska has already helped Frigel Firenze conduct a press conference in Europe to announce its new manufacturing facility.

Community Memorial Hospital
Community Memorial Hospital, Menomonee Falls, along with Advanced Healthcare and Medical Associates Health Centers, has named the recipients of the 2008 Spirit of Caring Awards. The Spirit of Caring – Contributions to the Medical Profession Award was awarded to Dr. Sridhar Vasudevan, of Belgium. The Spirit of Caring – Health Innovation Award was awarded to both Dr. Arthur Crisostomo, of Pewaukee, and Dr. Husam Balkhy, of Brookfield. The Spirit of Caring – Contributions to the Medical Profession Award recognizes members of the Community Memorial Hospital medical staff who have advanced or made significant contributions to the medical profession locally, regionally and/or nationally through service, leadership and practice. The Spirit of Caring – Health Innovation Award was created to acknowledge members of the Community Memorial Hospital medical staff who have led a medical innovation that has had an impact on community health. This year, the selection committee chose two doctors to receive the award.

The Healthier Wisconsin Partnership Program of the Medical College of Wisconsin has announced 24 grants totaling $6,368,224. The Healthier Wisconsin Partnership Program supports Wisconsin-based community-academic partnership projects designed to improve the health of Wisconsin residents through health advocacy and disease prevention initiatives. Ninety-one community organizations will participate in these projects. Through its four funding cycles, the Healthier Wisconsin Partnership Program has awarded a total of $23,449,777 to 102 projects. The Program funds two types of projects. Development projects generally last one year and fund activities related to the formation or development of a partnership, project and/or program. Impact projects generally last three years and fund partnership activities related to the implementation of a program or partnership with significant impact. Proposals received were evaluated by external reviewers with expertise in public and community health.

IDL Solutions, Germantown, recently announced that the company’s president and chief executive officer, Baly Ambegaoker, has been named 2008 Minority Small Business Person of the Year by the U.S. Small Business Administration of Wisconsin. Under her leadership, IDL Solutions has surfaced as one of Wisconsin’s most successful small business government contractors. For the past 15 years the company has been providing IT consulting services to many Wisconsin private sector firms and government agencies. Most recently, the company was awarded a $4 billion indefinite deliver/indefinite quality 10-year contract by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, a major operating division of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
Celtic Inc.
Celtic Inc., Brookfield, has been selected by The Abbey Resort, Fontana, to develop a variety of print and online marketing initiatives for the remodeled resort on the shores of Lake Geneva. Celtic will create a new print and online advertising template, as well as plan the media placement. The Abbey Resort recently completed a $40 million revitalization project. It is Lake Geneva’s only shoreline resort and features the only protected marina on the lake.
